The picture shows a small girl from the Amazon.
The girl comes from a small community of several hundred people, Gavião Parkatêjê from the Amazon rainforest of northern Brazil. This community attaches great importance to creating strong bonds and selfless support for each other.
The picture was taken at a special moment: just after winning the course during traditional competitions.
Behind the choice of this image speaks a wider context related to the values guiding the life of this small Indian community. It is also the quintessence of 10 years of the project. It has something that connects all Brave Kids. You can see joy, openness and a sense of rooting. These are the three dimensions of authenticity that Brave Kids is concerned about.
